 The process to write my poem wasn't that bad as I quickly found a topic I could write about, wrote the introduction, and just let the poem flow on my page. I found it enjoyable that I could just think and write a poem that flows but I did find the rhymes challenging. This assignment helped me understand how writers write the poems, and how challenging it really is to make a good and meaningful poem. Overall this process was pretty difficult but if you can find a topic you can write about easily then it makes it so much easier. Today in class we wrote our inspiration statement, our own poems, and the themes.

 One moment I had to step out of my comfort zone is when I tried seafood for the first time. Specifically fish, I enjoy to this day but things like clams and things with shells I tried and I do not enjoy. I think that is because of the thought of eating something inside a shell. I do enjoy lobster and crab and sometimes shrimp though, and I like the process of taking crab out of the shell. I see seafood boils on tiktok and they look so good but I knew if I ever faced one I would eat and enjoy it but it wouldn't match my expectations but I don't know for sure. Today in class we kept reading and analyzing a poem.

 I had to write a poem in middle school in 8th grade. It required 5 stanzas of 4 lines each unlike the poems we wrote which were 4 stanzas of 5 lines each. I preferred that one because it made the rhyme scheme easier with ABAB rhymes. The writing process was pretty challenging and my topic was love and romance. I think my topic for this poem was easier as life challenges to meet is easier than love and romance. Overall I enjoyed writing it and it helped me in the future.  Today in class we read and analyzed a poem.

 The challenge made our group slow down and talk through each question instead of rushing to an answer. We had to explain our reasoning and listen to different opinions before making a final choice. Sometimes we disagreed, but that helped us notice details in the story that one person might have missed. I learned that working as a group can lead to better decisions when everyone communicates and supports their answers with evidence. The experience showed me that teamwork is more effective when people actually listen to each other. Today we worked on getting 100% on the test.

 One time I had to work through obstacles was when I was trying to improve my SAT score. Studying for hours every week became tiring, especially when my practice scores did not improve as quickly as I wanted. There were times when I wanted to give up, but I kept reminding myself that a higher score could help me with college applications. Eventually, all of the practice and frustration paid off when I reached the score I had been working toward. The journey was worth it because it taught me that staying consistent even when progress feels slow can lead to a great result. Today in class we continued working and listening to someone reading the story.

 I once had a conversation with my older cousin about constantly comparing myself to other people. He told me that everyone moves at a different pace, so focusing too much on someone else’s success can make you ignore your own progress. That made me realize how often I judged myself based on what other people were doing. Since then, I have tried to focus more on my own goals and improvement instead of worrying about where I stand compared to others. The conversation helped me become more confident and patient with myself. Today in class we discussed the story were reading.
